Newcastle target Christian Pulisic has now been tipped to leave Chelsea this summer by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
It was 90min who claimed in February that Eddie Howe wanted to sign the United States international at the end of the season.
Now – as Christian Pulisic struggles for game time in west London – a deal could happen.
What’s the story?
Well, the American has only made eight Premier League starts this season, as Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter nor Frank Lampard have viewed him as a key man.
Now, Romano expects Pulisic to leave Stamford Bridge with Newcastle monitoring his situation.
When asked if he believes the 24-year-old will leave Chelsea, the Italian journalist told CBS Sports: “I think yes. It’s time for him to go and play some regular football, he needs to be consistent and feel like an important player in the club and this is not happening at Chelsea.”
Pulisic has scored just one goal in 27 appearances this season, and has netted just 26 times in 142 outings in total since his £58m move from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019.
Pulisic would boost Newcastle in several ways
While these statistics do not make for good reading, Pulisic is still a very talented forward who simply needs a fresh start elsewhere, at a place where he can be a leading figure – as Romano states.
Not only would Howe be getting a dangerous attacker if the Magpies manage to sign the Hershey-born forward, but his arrival would also boost Newcastle on the global stage.
Pulisic is the most famous American footballer by some distance – he is even nicknamed Captain America – and with marketing now a significant factor in modern day football, his presence at Newcastle would boost the club’s revenue in the United States significantly.

That may not interest the average Newcastle fan, but we would presume Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi would love to see such a situation occur.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Pulisic’s next destination should be revealed soon.
