Paul Robinson has said that it is “worrying” that Tottenham Hotspur do not plan to hire Julian Nagelsmann as their next permanent manager.

The former Tottenham goalkeeper has said on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport that Spurs should have been interested in bringing Nagelsmann to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to BBC Sport, Tottenham are not considering Nagelsmann for their next permanent manager’s role.

The report has claimed that “there have been no talks” between the German boss and Spurs.

Robinson said: “If Spurs aren’t in the hunt for a manage like that, it’s worrying.

“So, I like you, potentially think they would have asked the question, sounded his people out, they have gone, ‘Nah, don’t waste your time’.”

Strange

We find it strange that Tottenham Hotspur are not looking at Julian Nagelsmann.

Yes, Nagelsmann’s tenure at Bayern Munich did not end well, but that the German giants hired him in the first place shows just how good he is.

The German is a very young and ambitious manager who worked wonders at RB Leipzig and did win the Bundesliga with Bayern last season.

The 35-year-old would have been a very good managerial appointment for Tottenham, who will now need to look at other candidates.

Now, of course, this is not the end of the world.

There are other good candidates out there.

Tottenham fans need not get too disappointed.
