LoZ Tears of the Kingdom glider: How to get paraglider quickly

Callum Smith

Similar to Breath of the Wild, the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom takes place in a massive open-world, and you will want to get the paraglider as soon as possible so you can use the glider to travel around quickly.

Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is already a strong contender for game of the year 2023. The review embargo lifted one day before release, and, as of writing, it boasts an incredible 96 on Metacritic.

One of the best aspects of TOTK is the open-world gameplay, and the paraglider is fantastic fun once unlocked.

How to get the glider in Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

You unlock and get the glider in Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom simply by progressing through the very early stages of the story.

Once you complete the tutorial, you are completely free to travel the land of Hyrule as you please. However, we’d recommend sticking to the main story for the first few hours so you unlock the paraglider.

After completing the tutorial, head to Lookout Landing and speak to Purah. They will tell you to find Captain Hoz at Hyrule Castle. Go there, complete the Castle of Hyrule mission, and then return to Purah.

Proceed to the Skyview Towers on Lookout Landing, and Purah will tell you about them while also giving you the paraglider. Essentially, Skyview Towers reveal parts of the map, similar to other open-world games where it is perhaps most iconic in Assassin’s Creed.

The glider is the same as it was in Breath of the Wild. It never breaks, but it does require stamina to use. So, if you are in mid-air and run out of stamina, you will fall. Plain and simple.

There are dozens of shrines, seeds, and more to find around the open-world of Hyrule. Make sure to use the interactive map from Zelda Dungeon to help locate everything in the game.
