Kieran Trippier has lavished praise on to Mauricio Pochettino, who has been linked with returning to Tottenham Hotspur as their next manager.

Alan Brazil revealed in April that while the Argentine boss was keen on rekindling his romance with Spurs, Daniel Levy ‘blanked’ him.

Kieran Trippier, who worked under Mauricio Pochettino during his time at Tottenham Hotspur has now praised his former manager.

Trippier raves about Pochettino

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain tactician will forever be lauded for the astounding job he did in N17, regardless of a lack of silverware.

Branded as the ‘best manager in the world’ by Andros Townsend via talkSPORT, the 51-year-old made the Lilywhites a staple side in the Champions League and led them to a place in the final back in 2019 as well.

Kieran Trippier, who thrived under Mauricio Pochettino during his spell at Tottenham only had positive things to say about his former manager.

“It’s funny. It’s like he knew everything about you. It’s like he had cameras everywhere. He knew if you didn’t sleep well, if you were in a bad mood, he was a good man-manager, he knew when to speak to you and when not to speak to you, when to pull you in, when not to. He was like a magician at times”, he said on the High Performance Podcast.

HITC View: Pochettino would be the ideal manager for Tottenham even now

As Kieran Trippier confirmed, Mauricio Pochettino was simply brilliant at Tottenham and in the situation they currently find themselves in, is there a more suitable manager for the job?

That is a question worth considering for the Spurs board.

After all, Pochettino shone despite having limited resources at his disposal and elevated a squad of players to a level that meant his side were overachieving season after season.

While this is not to suggest that Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique or Arne Slot would not be top-drawer candidates as well.

However, Pochettino has thrived amidst the mess at Tottenham and he could well do so again, even though it seems like he is now set to join Chelsea.
