Tottenham Hotspur have been left encouraged after holding fresh talks with German manager Julian Nagelsmann.
That is according to The Times, who claim that Spurs are feeling positive about a move for the German.
It’s stated that Spurs did speak to Nagelsmann before he pulled out of the race for the Chelsea job.
More talks now seem to have been held and Spurs now have hope that Nagelsmann will fancy the move.
Nagelsmann is still on Bayern Munich’s payroll and is technically under contract with the Bundesliga club until 2026 – despite being sacked in March.
A deal to bring Nagelsmann in right now seemingly won’t be happening but Spurs feel encouraged about a summer deal.
Tottenham director of football situation surely still a problem for Julian Nagelsmann
This all sounds pretty good for Tottenham – especially after claims from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
Plettenberg suggests that Nagelsmann sees Tottenham as a ‘big club’ with ‘big potential’.
It was suggested that Daniel Levy is pushing more and more to secure Nagelsmann but the director of football situation is still an issue.
Fabio Paratici has resigned from his position as Tottenham’s director of football having been hit with a worldwide ban by FIFA.
Spurs are yet to announce a replacement and only one real contender has emerged so far.

Plettenberg reported on Friday that Tottenham are considering bringing in Johannes Spors as their new director of football.
Currently a ‘global sporting director’ with 777 Sports and their various clubs, Spors is a real contender for Tottenham.
That’s interesting as Spors and Nagelsmann have crossed paths before.
Spors was an analyst and scout at Hoffenheim during Nagelsmann’s rise through the coaching ranks and they were together back in 2013.
Landing Spors may well tempt Nagelsmann to Tottenham in a pretty exciting double move and that may well be the reason for this new-found confidence.
