Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have reportedly got in touch with David Moyes’s West Ham United about signing Declan Rice in the summer transfer window.

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has reported on Twitter that Liverpool are in contact with Premier League rivals West Ham over signing England international midfielder Rice.

The 24-year-old is reportedly one of the main targets for the Reds.

ESPN have also reported interest from Liverpool in Rice, adding that West Ham are looking for £100 million in transfer fees for him.

Exciting

In our view, Declan Rice would be a brilliant signing for Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The England international is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and would make Liverpool a better and more combative team in the middle of the park.

The 24-year-old protects the back-line well and can impose himself in the middle of the park.

Now, while there are suggestions that Rice should score more goals, we have to remember that he is still only 24 and could add more facets to his game.

Leaving West Ham for Liverpool would be a step-up for Rice in his career.

The big question is whether the Merseyside club will be willing to pay £100 million in transfer fees for the England international.

That is an awful lot of money to spend on just one player.
