Leeds United have appointed Sam Allardyce as their new manager – and Karl Robinson has followed him to Elland Road.

The Whites have today decided to sack Javi Gracia despite only appointing him back in February.

Leeds are going down the route of a tried-and-tested Premier League manager with Sam Allardyce on the way in.

Allardyce hasn’t been in work since leaving West Bromwich Albion in 2021 but is now being asked to keep Leeds up.

Allardyce needs a coaching staff around him with Gracia’s backroom team leaving too.

‘Big Sam’ has decided to go with a man he knows well as his assistant manager.

Karl Robinson has joined Leeds until the summer, reuniting with Allardyce after previously working together at Blackburn Rovers.

The pair join forces again in an attempt to guide Leeds to safety – and Robinson is a huge fan of Allardyce.

Karl Robinson has called Sam Allardyce a ‘tactical genius’

Robinson commented on Allardyce whilst speaking to TalkSPORT back in March.

The Liverpudlian noted that he worked under Allardyce for 18 months at Blackburn.

Robinson heaped praise on Allardyce, calling him a ‘tactical genius’ having seen his methods up close and personal.

Robinson noted that everyone views Allardyce as a long-ball manager but he saw much more from him during their time at Ewood Park.

Leeds certainly need a tactical genius right now and are desperate for somebody to come in and solve their defensive issues.

Allardyce could be that man and the hope is that Robinson can certainly help him.

Sacked by Oxford United in February, Robinson will now hope to learn more from Allardyce at Leeds and take the experience into his next managerial job.
