Leeds United, Everton and West Ham have been linked with Boulaye Dia and the Serie A striker’s agent admits that there is indeed Premier League interest in his client.

Salernitana are not yet 100 per cent safe from relegation. But the fact that they are potentially just one game away from cementing their Serie A place for 2023/24 is testament to the impact Dia has made since joining on loan from La Liga outfit Villarreal last summer.

Dia has 12 goals and six assists from 23 starts. He is not only their top scorer but their most consistent creator too.

Salernitana can turn the Nigeria international’s loan into a permanent transfer for around £10.5 million. But, with the likes of Leeds, West Ham and Scudetto-winners-in-waiting Napoli all reportedly showing an interest, it is not impossible that Salernitana could trigger the option-to-buy clause in Dia’s contract before selling him on for an immediate profit.

Boulaye Dia has Premier League interest

“I still know nothing about Dia’s future at Salernitana. First of all, the club must gain survival, which hasn’t happened yet,” agent Frederic Guerra tells Radio Kiss Kiss. “We have to wait and then discuss a transfer and all the rest.

“(Napoli director Cristiano) Giuntoli is following him. But he has plenty of admirers, also from England and France.”

Leeds are likely to make a new number nine their number one summer target. Whichever division the Yorkshire giants find themselves in come June. Everton have reportedly held talks with Dia too; Tutto Salernitana reporting that the one-time Reims talisman is worth around £18 million these days.

West Ham is another potential destination.

Guerra admitted that the Hammers held negotiations with Dia two years ago; shortly before Villarreal won the race for a man who scored goals at an impressive rate in Ligue 1.

“We talked a lot with West Ham,” Guerra said at the time. “He is a player who interests them.”
