Who is replacing Jeff Stelling? Many have asked on Google after the 68-year-old announced he would be leaving Sky Sports and Soccer Saturday at the end of the season.

Stelling told Sky Sports: “I’ve been at Sky for more than 30 years and loved every moment of my time as part of the Soccer Saturday team. It is now the right time to move on and give Sky Sports viewers a break from my relentless rants, bad gags and over the top celebrations of Hartlepool United goals. It’s been a lot of fun, for me at least!”

The Hartlepool fan performed a U-turn on his decision to leave Sky Sports back in 2022 after originally announcing his exit in October 2021.

Sky News quoted him as saying: “As the end of the season approached, and I was preparing to say goodbye, I realised I was not ready to blow the final whistle and leave the best job in the world.”

Now – however – Stelling is definitely departing, so let’s take a look at who could replace him as host on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday…

Who could replace Jeff Stelling

Well, when Stelling initially announced his departure before deciding to backtrack, Sky targeted the BBC’s Mark Chapman as his replacement – according to The Times.

Of course, Sky ended their pursuit of the 49-year-old after Stelling eventually decided to stay on.

There has been no fresh report of Sky making a move for Chapman, although given the fact their interest was expressed just over 12 months ago, it would surely be safe to assume it still exists.

The Rochdale-born presenter often hosts BBC Match of the Day 2.

Chapman also started to work on Sky Sports from May 2022 to present their coverage of the Carabao Cup.

Be sure to keep an eye on the situation to see who Sky choose as Stelling’s replacement.
