Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly told his impending Chelsea bosses not to sell Christian Pulisic amid rumours linking the American star with Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

Mauricio Pochettino wants Christian Pulisic stay at Chelsea amid Newcastle interest

CM have reported that Pochettino has told Chelsea that he wants to keep Pulisic in the team for next season.

According to The Times, the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is set to become the new manager of Chelsea.

90min reported in February that Newcastle are keen on signing the £150,000-a-week (SalarySport) Pulisic in the summer transfer window.

HITC Verdict: Blow for Newcastle

In our view, Mauricio Pochettino’s reported stance on Christian Pulisic is a blow for Newcastle United in their quest to sign the Chelsea attacker in the summer transfer window.

Now, we know that the 24-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has not had the best of times at Chelsea.

And there have been injury problems.

However, the USA international could give it another go at Chelsea under Pochettino, a manager who improved and developed players during his time at Tottenham.

Chelsea are a massive club and have a global fanbase, and under Pochettino next season, the Blues will be determined to at least challenge for the Premier League title.
