Jamie Carragher has slated Arsenal duo Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes for getting dominated in their side’s 4-1 hammering to Manchester City.
The centre-back duo simply could not tame Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, as the pair took turns to demolish them at the Etihad Stadium.
Jamie Carragher, as a former centre-back himself was unimpressed by Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes as Manchester City tore Arsenal to pieces on Wednesday.
Carragher blasts Holding & Gabriel as Manchester City beat Arsenal
The primary concern entering the title showdown for the Emirates faithful was to see how Holding would perform against Haaland.
However, the Englishman’s centre-back partner was just as, if not even worse as he has continued to underperform in the last few weeks for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Jamie Carragher, while lauding Erling Haaland’s performance for Manchester City against Arsenal also honed in on how he bossed Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes all over the park.

“Haaland has been a goalscoring machine all season but tonight, even without scoring, it’s been one of his best performances for Man City. He’s more than a goalscorer. He bullied Arsenal all night and that comes from City going more direct at times.”
“Was just about to tweet this”, he added while sharing the unposted tweet that was saved in his drafts.
HITC View: Holding & Gabriel could not contend with the Viking for a second
It’s hard to disagree with Jamie Carragher, as Manchester City striker Erling Haaland took turns to dominate both Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes for Arsenal.
It seemed like turning back the clocks to witness how Chelsea legend Didier Drogba often did the same to the Gunners’ defenders, every time the much-awaited London Derby was on display.
From an Arsenal perspective, the hope remains that the pair have learned their lesson after going toe-to-toe with the undisputed best No.9 in the world.
