Inter Milan have reportedly placed a €40m (£35m) price tag on Andre Onana, with Chelsea and Tottenham both interested in the Cameroonian international.

According to Goal, the Serie A giants are prepared to sell the 27-year-old this summer just one year after signing Onana from Ajax, with Chelsea interested in the Inter star as 90min report that Tottenham are also chasing the shot-stopper as a replacement for Hugo Lloris.

Labelled as ‘world-class’ by Oliver Kahn, Onana has been one of the best goalkeepers in Europe this season since making the move to the San Siro, and transfer to the Premier League could now be on the cards.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham are ready to spend big on a new starting goalkeeper this summer, with Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga both seemingly out of favour at Stamford Bridge whilst Lloris is in desperate need of replacing at Spurs.

Indeed, Onana could be one of the best options out there in the market for Chelsea and Tottenham, and with Inter setting a reasonable £35m asking price for the former Ajax star, both London clubs could soon make attempts to sign the 27-year-old star.

However, should Inter go all the way in the UEFA Champions League, it will be hard for Onana to leave the potential European champions for the Premier League for two sides who won’t even be in the competition next season.

Onana should be smart and reject Chelsea and Tottenham this summer

It’s rare to suggest to a player at the peak of their powers to reject a move to the Premier League, especially to two of the biggest clubs in the division in Chelsea and Tottenham. Yet given just how bad the two sides have been this season, Onana should be wise enough to reject a move to the English capital.

Whilst Inter’s chances of European success are slim, the Nerazzurri remain one of the biggest clubs in the world and could potential compete in the Champions League again next season, a competition neither Chelsea or Tottenham will realistically be in next season.
