Liverpool target Alexis Mac Allister has been hailed by former Brighton and Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray.
Murray was speaking to BBC Sport ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester United.
Sadly for the Seagulls, they ended up losing on penalties to the Red Devils at Wembley.
The two sides couldn’t be separated in 120 minutes as they played out a back-and-forth 0-0 draw.
Solly March was the only man to miss in the shootout but playmaker Mac Allister unsurprisingly scored his spot kick.
This is a man who won the World Cup with Argentina; he was calmness personified stepping up from 12 yards.
Murray (24 min) raved about Mac Allister, suggesting that the midfielder is truly ‘exceptional’ and still improving all the time.
Murray also feels that Mac Allister will be the one player Brighton really struggle to keep hold of this summer.
The likes of Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo and Kaoru Mitoma are all attracting major interest.
Murray still thinks Mac Allister is the main man though and fears he could leave this summer.
“He’s improving all the time, he really is exceptional,” said Murray. “I think he’s the one that Brighton will really struggle to keep hold of out of that brilliant group they’ve got at the moment,” he added.

Liverpool want to sign Alexis Mac Allister
Liverpool may well be the club who make the biggest push to sign Mac Allister this summer.
The Reds are desperate to sign a new midfielder or two this summer having backed away from Jude Bellingham.
Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier this month that Liverpool had joined Chelsea and United in approaching Mac Allister’s agents.
Romano added last week that Liverpool would be having meetings with Mac Allister’s camp in the coming weeks.
The 24-year-old has bagged eight Premier League goals this season and has excelled for both club and country.
This would be a huge deal for Liverpool and Murray’s prediction may well be right as the Reds prepare to mount a push for the Argentinian.
