Ryan Mason is ready to replace Cristian Stellini as the Tottenham Hotspur head coach until the end of the season, according to a report.
Ryan Mason ready to replace Cristian Stellini at Tottenham Hotspur
The London Evening Standard are reporting this morning that Tottenham are considering dismissing Stellini as the Acting Head Coach.
Spurs suffered an embarrassing 6-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United away from home at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Italian was handed the Tottenham managerial role until the end of the season after Antonio Conte parted ways with the North London club.
Stellini was the assistant head coach under Conte at Tottenham.
The London Evening Standard have reported that Mason “is thought to be open to helping his boyhood club again”.
The Englishman, who played for Tottenham, oversaw the final seven games of the 2020-21 season after Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho.

A mess
It is really a mess at Tottenham Hotspur at the moment, isn’t it?
Cristian Stellini is doing the best he can, but we must remember that he is not a ‘manager’.
After all, he was the number two to Conte at Tottenham just a few weeks ago.
So, we should not be too harsh on the Italian even after the defeat to Newcastle on Sunday.
Ryan Mason is a good coach, and while he could do a decent job as manager of the Tottenham team for the rest of the season, we should not be surprised if he fails to do better than Stellini.
