Alexander Isak has admitted that he was left ’shocked’ by Joe Willock’s assist during Newcastle United’s 6-1 drubbing of Tottenham Hotspur.
Eddie Howe’s side secured a dominant win over Spurs at St James’ Park, with former Arsenal man, Joe Willock, providing a possible assist of the season contender.
With Newcastle 2-0 up inside nine minutes, with the ball on the left flank, Joe Willock proceeded to provide an outside-of-the-boot pass that Tottenham’s all-over-the-place backline could only watch, as it put Alexander Isak through on goal for him to slot home.

From then on, things just went from comical to beyond a joke for the away side, with the scoreline reading 5-0 after just 21 minutes.
That’s five assists and three goals for the season for Willock and Isak is loving the partnership he is building with the 23-year-old, as he told Premier League Productions (23/04/23 at 4:10 pm).
“I was shocked, to be fair,” said Isak. “I wasn’t expecting it. That’s incredible. All praise should be to the assist there.
“Me and Joe, we show that we have a good connection. He finds me often. That was brilliant.”

WILLOCK KNOCKING ON THE ENGLAND DOOR?
The Arsenal academy product started like wildfire when he first joined then-Steve Bruce’s Newcastle on a loan deal.
But when he put pen-to-paper on a permanent contract, his form started to dip and he struggled before Bruce was sacked.
Since Howe has entered the picture, like many Newcastle players, he has improved a huge amount and he is possibly knocking on that England door.
