Mauricio Pochettino is ready to become the new Chelsea manager despite being a former Tottenham Hotspur boss, according to a report.

The Daily Mail have reported that Pochettino has held two rounds of talks with Chelsea and is now the favourite to take over at the London club at the end of the season.

The report has added that despite being a former Tottenham manager, the Argentine is not bothered about taking charge of London rivals Chelsea.

The Daily Mail have claimed that some players at Tottenham want Pochettino to return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

During his time at Spurs, the Argentine regularly guided the team to the Premier League top four and also led them to the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2019.

However, it is Chelsea where Pochettino could reportedly end up now.

HITC Verdict: Chelsea move possible

In our view, Mauricio Pochettino could become the new Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Now, of course, The Daily Mail have named other candidates for the Chelsea role, but Pochettino is a very good manager who did well in the Premier League with Southampton and Tottenham.

And he won the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain last season.
