As Arsenal ready themselves to face off against Southampton on Friday night, Jack Henry-Francis has been called up to first-team training.

A defensive midfielder by trade, the Irishman is seemingly one of the most underrated gems in and amongst the youth setup at the club.

After all, the likes of Ethan Nwaneri, Amario Cozier-Duberry, Salah Eddine Oulad-M’Hand and Charles Sagoe Jr. to name a few are huge talents.

However, as the title is on the line for Arsenal ahead of their contest against Southampton, Jack Henry-Francis has been seen in senior training.

The 19-year-old has been described as a “tireless central midfielder who relishes breaking up play and springing attacks from midfield”, whilst being “aggressive and tenacious in the tackle” by Arsenal’s official website.

While the Gunners’ attacking prospects are often the ones that generate the headlines, it seems like the club have a real beast at the base of midfield on their books.

As Arsenal now host Southampton in a league outing that could determine their title chances, Jack Henry-Francis has been called up to first-team training according to youth football expert Jeorge Bird.

It seems like the teen talent trained with the league leaders on Wednesday and will continue to in the build-up to the battle.

Could Jack Henry-Francis replace Thomas Partey in the future?

The honest answer is, you never know.

On one hand, it seems as if the London-born wonderkid has the potential to do so.

However, it is likely that the club will look at more established players to succeed arguably the most irreplaceable member of their squad.

Regardless, if Jack Henry-Francis manages to impress Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta in training ahead of fixtures such as against Southampton, he will reap his rewards.

Now, it is all on the up-and-coming prospect to grab his opportunity to do so with both hands.
