Liverpool have been heavily linked with Chelsea’s Mason Mount in recent months.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have had their fair share of issues in midfield amid expiring contracts and ageing legs.
Liverpool look likely to bring in a number of new recruits at Anfield when the transfer window reopens.

Indeed, the Reds have reportedly pulled the plug on a move for Jude Bellingham as they need quantity as well as quality.
While speculation around Bellingham has petered out, Mount continues to be linked with a switch to Liverpool.
Goal.com’s Neil Jones reported earlier in April that Liverpool have held “productive” talks over the Blues ace.
The report added that the Reds ‘would be willing and able to meet the player’s salary demands’.
Now, The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg has reported that Mount is “increasingly likely” to make the move to Anfield.
‘He is such a team player’
Mount is an outstanding footballer who would be a great shout for Liverpool.
He is a versatile player who loves to press and work hard, and is outstanding on and off the ball.
Declan Rice previously said the Reds target is “one of the best players I’ve played with”.
“Not only with the ball,” he said during the World Cup.
“His quality he shows in abundance for England and Chelsea, but the way he is off the ball.
“You don’t see many number 10s who have that together. He is such a team player, such a hard-working, honest guy.”

Talent aside, there are other reasons why a Liverpool move for Mount makes sense.
Chelsea need to offload players to balance out their spending, and homegrown players will recoup a sizeable fee.
Meanwhile, Liverpool could do with homegrown players as James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are out of contract this summer.
Furthermore, Mount’s contract runs out in 2024, so this summer is the last chance his club has of making a decent fee.
Mount reportedly has a £70million price tag, but the Reds will be aware that Chelsea aren’t in a particularly strong position to keep hold of him.
With that in mind, Liverpool will surely fancy their chances of negotiating the fee down.
