Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Roberto De Zerbi in recent weeks as they continue their manager search.

A month ago, The Telegraph reported that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was eyeing the Brighton & Hove Albion boss.

And earlier in April, Alasdair Gold claimed that Tottenham had reached out towards De Zerbi.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed how much Spurs – or any other suitors – could expect to pay for the Italian.

The transfer insider was speaking about his compatriot on the Here We Go podcast.

In a boost for Tottenham, Romano also claimed that Chelsea are not looking at De Zerbi.

“Credits to Roberto De Zerbi, but he is not in the list of Chelsea to be the new coach,” said Romano.

“Let me clarify this, in De Zerbi’s contract there is a clause.

“You can call it a release clause, you can call it a release clause or a fixed amount.

“But if you go there and you pay €13m (£11m) in the summer you can have De Zerbi.

“That’s in case you agree with him because he is very happy at Brighton and he is doing very well.”

‘He’s magical’

De Zerbi has worked wonders at the Amex Stadium since taking over from Graham Potter in September.

He has continued his predecessor’s good work and looks set for a record high Premier League finish with his club.

De Zerbi has quickly won everyone at Brighton over, with one player singing his praises especially highly.

Yasin Ayari told Aftonbladet: “He’s magical. The world’s best coach.

“Everything works. When it comes to tactics, I’ve never seen anyone like him in my entire life.

“I am someone who studies football a lot.

“Many coaches I have studied and he is one of those who when it comes to the small details, he cannot be compared with others.”

Gareth Southgate recently said the 43-year-old was doing some “amazing” work with a side playing “unique” football.

And former Spurs player Sandro told BBC Sport that De Zerbi would become “one of the best very soon”.

De Zerbi seems like a great shout for Tottenham, but it’ll be difficult to prise him away from Brighton.
