Leeds United are back in for Jose Cifuentes and could make a move for the LAFC midfielder at the end of the season.
That is according to MLS insider Tom Bogert, who reports that interest in Cifuentes is mounting with Leeds in the mix.
Bogert claims that Leeds are battling Rangers and Espanyol in the race to sign Cifuentes.
It’s added that Cifuentes is out of contract at the end of 2023 so he could be a bargain signing this summer.
Cifuentes may be a familiar name to some Leeds fans after previous rumours about a move to Elland Road.
The Sun claimed back in August that Leeds and Newcastle United were both trying to sign Cifuentes from LAFC.
No move materialised but it seems that Leeds are looking into a summer deal for the Ecuadorian ace.

Leeds may need to add midfielders amid Jose Cifuentes interest
Cifuentes, 23, has proven himself as a quality box-to-box midfielder in Major League Soccer.
13 goals and 15 assists in 86 MLS games is a strong record for Cifuentes, who joined LAFC in 2020.
Hailed as ‘terrific’ by South American football expert Tim Vickery, Cifuentes has bags of untapped potential and could develop into a star.
Leeds seem to have held a long-standing interest in Cifuentes and this summer could be the time to strike.
Leeds lost Mateusz Klich in January as he – somewhat ironically – made a move to MLS with DC United.
Weston McKennie is only on loan at Elland Road and has yet to really show that Leeds should sign him permanently.
Marc Roca hasn’t consistently impressed this season and Tyler Adams has been linked with Inter Milan this season.
Victor Orta needs to have targets in mind and ideally should have two transfer wish lists; one for if Leeds stay up and one for if they go down.
Cifuentes may well be a player that fits into both plans and Leeds may hope to pounce for a bargain deal this summer.
