Journalist Ben Jacobs has said that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could be able to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The journalist has told CaughtOffSide that there is a real chance that Mount leaves Chelsea for Premier League rivals Liverpool at the end of the season.
Jacobs has said that Liverpool could be able to sign the 24-year-old midfielder for less than £70 million.
The Daily Mail have reported that Mount is on £80,000 per week at Chelsea at the moment and wants to get a new deal worth £240,000 per week.
Liverpool are reportedly working hard to get a deal done for the 24-year-old.
Mason Mount tipped to leave Chelsea for Liverpool
Jacobs said: “There is a real chance Mason Mount joins from Chelsea. Mount is no closer to signing a Chelsea extension and Liverpool see a chance to get him for a bargain.
“Chelsea will still try, and their new manager could be a key factor, but right now Mount can be pitched a more defined and integral role at Liverpool.
“And although Chelsea may try for £70m, Liverpool believe the price will be less.”

HITC Verdict: Summer transfer could happen
In our view, Liverpool could be able to sign Mason Mount from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
If the 24-year-old does not agree on a new deal before the end of the season, then it is likely that the Blues will want to move him on and get a decent transfer fee.
Mount is a very good and capable player who is dynamic and combative.
We believe that the Englishman will make Liverpool a better team in the middle of the park.
