Jurgen Klinsmann is now reportedly a shock candidate to take over at Tottenham this summer despite the German coach recently being announced as the new manager of South Korea.
According to Kicker via GGFN, the Spurs icon is a surprise option for the Tottenham role after Antonio Conte’s departure from the north London side earlier in the season, with Daniel Levy also exploring the likes of Vincent Kompany, Julian Nagelsmann and even former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
With Klinsmann only being announced as South Korea’s new manager in February, it would be nothing short of extraordinary if the 58-year-old was to take the Tottenham job, especially with the German’s last club-level role with Hertha Berlin going poorly for the Spurs legend.

An outspoken character, many Tottenham fans would be against the idea of Klinsmann returning to the club as manager this summer, especially with the north London side eyeing up a coach who can undertake a long-term project, like what Pochettino achieved.
Indeed, with Klinsmann also recently becoming South Korea manager, a sudden shift to taking a top job at one of the Premier League’s biggest sides would be a dramatic decision, to say the least, and Tottenham themselves know that the German coach could only be a candidate as a last resort.
Klinsmann returning to Tottenham would be nothing short of bonkers

Klinsmann’s managerial career has been mixed, to say the least, with the German finding his niche as an international coach after his last failed attempt in the club game with Hertha. And for Tottenham, appointing their former icon would be nothing short of crazy.
Spurs are a club with ambitions of becoming one of the biggest teams in Europe, and Klinsmann as manager would send the north London side back a few steps even after the failed tenures of Conte and Jose Mourinho in recent years.
