The Tottenham Hotspur manager search saga is now in its third week and counting.

Spurs parted company with Antonio Conte at the end of March.

Cristian Stellini will be in charge alongside Ryan Mason until the end of the season.

Plenty of managers have been linked with the Tottenham hotseat, but there hasn’t been a breakthrough yet.

Now, the Daily Mail has reported that there are several factions within Spurs who have different managers in mind.

The report claims that a number of players would love to see Mauricio Pochettino return to Tottenham.

Meanwhile, another faction has emerged pushing for a British manager like Graham Potter to get the job.

As for Daniel Levy, he reportedly has his eyes on Burnley’s Vincent Kompany.

Our view

Well, it looks as though Spurs are no closer to a decision on the permanent manager front.

Pochettino and Potter are both free agents, so Tottenham wouldn’t have to thrash out compensation with another club.

However, the issue with Pochettino is whether the issues that led to him losing his job first-time round are gone or still there.

As for Potter, his time at Chelsea wasn’t fruitful, and it makes you wonder whether he could do the same at another club with high expectations.

Also, it looks as though the Tottenham dressing room has made a U-turn from two years ago, after Jose Mourinho left.

At the time, football.london reported that a number of Tottenham players had been repeatedly impressed by Potter’s Brighton side when they’d come up against them.

Apparently they were open to the club moving for the 47-year-old. Now, it looks as though Pochettino is their main pick.

Meanwhile, Kompany has been doing an amazing job at Burnley, but it remains to be seen whether he’d leave just after getting them back into the Premier League.

It looks as though this saga could go on for a while.
