It has been claimed that Liverpool are targeting Moises Caicedo as their alternative to Jude Bellingham, if they fail to get the mega-transfer involving the latter over the line.
The Brighton & Hove Albion dynamo, since signing for just £4.5 million (Daily Mail) is likely to cost Jurgen Klopp’s side a pretty penny if they aim to sign him.
As it remains a question mark over whether Liverpool can complete a transfer for Jude Bellingham, Moises Caicedo is reportedly seen as a viable plan B.
Liverpool consider Caicedo as Bellingham transfer alternative
The Borussia Dortmund talisman is perhaps the most coveted player in world football and with Manchester City as well as Real Madrid linked with his signature, it will be a challenge for the Reds to sign him.
As much as the youngster seemingly has an affinity towards the Merseyside-based club, their struggles combined with the actual cost of the deal makes it a tough one for them to execute.

But journalist Dharmesh Sheth has said that Liverpool consider Moises Caicedo, branded as ‘incredible’ by Adam Webster on Brighton’s official website as an alternative to Jude Bellingham, if they miss out on a transfer involving him.
“However, I was thinking about this as well. On the flip side, Liverpool will look at alternatives if Jude Bellingham isn’t coming. “However, I was thinking about this as well. On the flip side, Liverpool will look at alternatives if Jude Bellingham isn’t coming”, he told GiveMeSport.
Considering the profiles of both players, does it make sense for last season’s FA Cup and Carabao Cup winners to earmark Caicedo as the second-choice target to the Englishman?
While Moises Caicedo is a traditional box-to-box midfielder, Jude Bellingham is at his devastating best in the final third, which is why it is a head-scratcher to see why Liverpool consider the former as a transfer priority at all.
Then again, the Reds barely get it wrong in the market.
