Alan Brazil has said that Vincent Kompany has turned down the chance to manage Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Tottenham forward has said on talkSPORT (6:24am, March 31, 2023) that he has been told that Kompany has rejected the chance to become the new boss of Spurs.

The Sun have reported that the former Manchester City and Belgium international central defender is the leading contender to become the new Tottenham boss.

Brazil said: “Rewind four weeks ago. I told you that four weeks ago. He turned it down.”

HITC Verdict: Summer move could happen

In our view, Vincent Kompany could leave Burnley for Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season.

It is only a matter of time before the Clarets win automatic promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.

Now, Burnley are unlikely to do much of note in the top flight of English football even under Kompany.

The Clarets are likely to only fight for survival in the Premier League.

Tottenham are a big club who aim to be in the UEFA Champions League season after season.

The chance to take over at Spurs at the end of the season could be tempting for the 36-year-old.

After all, Tottenham are hugely ambitious and have wonderful players such as Harry Kane.
