Michail Antonio has said that Liverpool could complete a transfer for Harry Kane in the summer.
While the 29-year-old has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Bayern Munich, the West Ham United striker has given Jurgen Klopp’s side a chance to win the race for his signature on the Footballers’ Football Podcast.
It is likely that a majority of Liverpool fans will disagree with Michail Antonio about their chances of sealing a transfer for Harry Kane.
Michail Antonio backs Liverpool with a chance of signing Harry Kane
The Reds are enduring a nightmarish campaign, languishing in 6th place in the Premier League whilst exiting the Champions League after a 6-2 thrashing over two legs to Real Madrid.
The Merseyside-based club have been mercilessly dragged back down to earth after they missed out on a historic quadruple triumph last season.
However, Michail Antonio has said that despite all that has gone wrong at Liverpool, they are still in with a chance of getting a transfer for Harry Kane, branded as ‘fantastic’ by Jordan Henderson over the line in the summer.

“The only place he can go is [Manchester] United. “[Manchester] City have [Erling] Haaland. United need to bring someone in…”
“Actually, there’s two places he can go. United and Liverpool. Liverpool need a No.9. The only two places. I’m thinking it’s £100 million.”
In our view: No chance that the Reds win this transfer battle
Considering Harry Kane would likely prioritize a transfer from Tottenham to join a club that could win either the Premier League or the Champions League, it seems virtually impossible that he signs for Liverpool of all sides, which makes this take from Michail Antonio a strange one.
In addition, Jurgen Klopp and Co. will aim to assess how Darwin Nunez performs in his second season at Anfield after a hit-and-miss debut campaign.
With all these factors in mind alongside other problem positions to address, Antonio’s opinion does not particularly add up.
