Leeds United defender Max Wober has told supporters on Instagram that he has picked up a ‘small injury’ whilst on international duty with Austria.
On Friday, Austria opened their account to qualify for Euro 2024 by easing past Azerbaijan, with Max Wober starting, but then having to go off just after the half-hour mark.
It was an eventful time on the field for the £11 million Leeds signing (Sky Sports) because there were two goals, a yellow card for the player himself and then his injury.

Well, with Javi Garcia’s side battling relegation from the Premier League, the last thing they want is key players dropping out of their final run-in.
But that’s exactly what has happened with Wober, it’s been stated that the versatile player has a muscle injury and he has returned to Elland Road.
Added to that, the 25-year-old posted the following message to fans, as the Leeds and Austria star had mixed emotions.
“Great start for the qualifications,” said Wober. “Unfortunately, ended with a small injury.”
WOBER IS AN UNDERRATED FIGURE FOR LEEDS
Whether it’s in midfield, at left-back or at centre-back, Wober is proving to be a top, top purchase from Leeds.
Of course, he arrived when Jesse Marsch was still in the dugout, as the recently-sacked American coach once again used his past RB Salzburg links to bring the player in – Wober has since admitted that he misses Marsch.
And, as the games tick by, it’s proving to be a brilliant move from Marsch because he has found a player that can finally add some much-needed solidity at the back for the Yorkshire club.
