Tottenham Hotspur could well have a new manager in the dugout before the Premier League resumes.
Antonio Conte ruffled some feathers at Spurs after the Southampton draw last weekend, to put it mildly.
He called a number of his stars “selfish” and claimed they are afraid of playing under pressure.

Conte also appeared to criticise the club’s ownership as he questioned the success under the current regime.
There appears to be one fan favourite in terms of who could replace Conte in the Tottenham dugout.
Namely, Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine enjoyed a fruitful stint at Spurs between 2014 and 2019.
In that time, Pochettino transformed Tottenham into Premier League challengers and Champions League finalists.
The consensus amongst many fans is that Spurs were wrong to sack him and have since regressed.
With that in mind, speculation linking Pochettino and Tottenham has intensified in recent days.
Previous reports have claimed that the 51-year-old wants to wait until the end of the season to take the reins.
Now, a report from MD has suggested that Pochettino wants to see what happens at Real Madrid first.
The Spanish outlet noted how the former Tottenham boss nearly took the Bernabeu job on several occasions.
Pochettino could’ve taken the Real reins on both occasions when Zinedine Zidane left.
However, he opted to continue with Spurs and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.
Now, Pochettino is out of work and “very aware” of “what happens with Carlo Ancelotti”.
MD claims the Argentine “does not want to rush” as he keeps tabs on the Real Madrid position.
In addition, Real are reportedly keen on Pochettino, who’s “very much to the liking” of Florentino Perez.
Both “could” finally meet in the summer, but it “all depends on Ancelotti”.

Understandable
Pochettino is a “world-class” manager who knows Tottenham like the back of his hand, and he’s available right now.
He’s certainly an attainable option and would no doubt cause a buzz at N17.
At the same time, Pochettino will probably be wondering whether anything has actually changed at Spurs.
If other world-class managers like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte couldn’t do it at Tottenham, why would Pochettino’s second stint be any different?
With that in mind, you can understand why he’s reportedly holding fire for now and seeing what happens with Real Madrid.
