Arsenal and Liverpool are just two of the clubs currently being linked with Gabri Veiga.

Spanish outlet AS – via Sport Witness – recently reported that the Gunners have been eyeing the 20-year-old.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have now entered the race for Veiga, according to Cadena Ser, via Sport Witness.

Arsenal and Liverpool are apparently vying against the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United and Real Madrid.

Now, the Premier League teams appear to have an edge over Los Blancos.

Cadena Ser have claimed that Veiga’s entourage is urging their client to opt for the English top flight.

The Spain Under-21 international has a deal lasting until 2024, which includes a €40m (£35m) release clause.

Celta Vigo apparently want Veiga to pen a new deal and raise his clause.

This will enable them to earn more money when they do eventually sell him.

Meanwhile, Veiga’s contract with his current representatives expires on March 31st, continued the report.

He is currently looking for a new agent to negotiate the ‘big contract of his life’.

Spanish journalist Anton Meana, covering the report on Cadena Ser’s program El Larguero, said ‘Liverpool love him’.

However, Manu Sainz recently said on the Diario AS show on Twitch that Veiga ‘dreams’ of playing for Arsenal.

The Gunners are apparently his favourite club outside of Spain.

‘Exciting young midfielder’

It’s not surprising to see Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Real Madrid all linked with Veiga.

He is one of Spain’s top talents, a player with massive potential who could well become a superstar.

Football Espana recently wrote an in-depth analysis about the Celta gem, asking whether he is the next breakout star in la Liga.

They also noted how he has ‘outshone’ Jude Bellingham and Pedri in terms of goals scored this season.

‘Bellingham and Pedri are undoubtedly two of the best talents in world football,’ they wrote.

‘But they are being outshone by another exciting young midfielder who has gone under the radar in La Liga for much of the season.

‘Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga is having a seriously impressive breakthrough season in senior football.

‘In those 19 appearances (this season), Veiga has amassed six goals, beating Pedri (five) and Bellingham (four).

‘Furthermore, he has added two assists, taking his goal contributions to eight.

‘In a team that has scored just 22 goals, those are impressive numbers, especially for someone who is still considered to a newbie in senior top level football.

‘Veiga’s statistics are mightily impressive. He ranks in the 99th percentile for non-penalty goals, non-penalty xG and total shots.

‘He is also ranked highly for assists and shot-creating actions. In a team that has struggled for much of this season, these numbers are exceptionally good.’
