Tottenham Hotspur could well be on the lookout for a new manager in the coming days.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte ruffled some feathers last weekend, to put it mildly.

Now, according to Sky Sports, the Tottenham hierarchy will make a decision on his future by Wednesday night.

If Spurs part company with Conte, it remains to be seen who will take the reins in his place.

It could prove difficult bringing in a long-term, permanent replacement at this stage of the season.

With that in mind, Tottenham could potentially appoint a caretaker until the end of the campaign.

And while Ryan Mason looks like the likeliest candidate for that role, Spurs do have other options.

Harry Redknapp has told talkSPORT he’d find it hard to say no if Daniel Levy offered him the position.

“If someone asks you, I think it would be hard to say no, I’ll be truthful,” the 76-year-old said.

“When you love it, you do find it hard to say no, as Roy [Hodgson] and Neil [Warnock] would agree.”

Redknapp was then asked if he had received a call from the Spurs chairman yet.

“No definitely not,” he replied. “That has not happened.

“But you look at what you’re doing now, sitting around, having a game of golf…

“And it’s not the money, it’s the challenge.

“You love it, the buzz of it, winning a game is a fantastic feeling. It’s hard to say no.”

Redknapp or Mason?

While it’s good to hear Redknapp put his name in the hat for the Spurs job, it seems unlikely Levy will turn to him.

Admittedly, he had a great spell at Tottenham, steering them back into the Champions League and enjoying a good run in the competition.

Indeed, Robbie Keane deemed him “probably the all-time greatest man-manager”.

Nonetheless, Redknapp’s last management job was over five years ago now.

Meanwhile, Mason has been at the club for years and already has a caretaker’s spell under his belt.

That said, Redknapp did say he’d be open to working alongside the Spurs man.

Redknapp even said that he would be open to helping the 31-year-old out.

“Yeah of course, I would love that,” he said.

“With a young manager I often think that they don’t use older figures.

“But I think there is room for older people to go in with them and work with a young manager.

“Even if it was only for a couple of days a week just to be around.

“They can bounce ideas off you – I think that’s important.”
