Tottenham Hotspur could potentially find themselves swapping one world-class manager for another.
It doesn’t look like Spurs boss Antonio Conte has much time left as manager of the club.
Last Saturday, his post-match comments after Tottenham drew with Southampton took ‘brutally honest’ to a new level.

Now, it is surely a matter of time before Spurs part company with Conte.
The question is – who will replace him?
Mauricio Pochettino is one of the names doing the rounds.
After all, he was one of the best managers Spurs have had in recent years, and he’s currently out of work.
However, one report has just emerged claiming Pochettino doesn’t fancy taking the reins right away.
The Guardian claims the Argentine would rather return to the Tottenham dugout at the end of the season.
This is also the case with Thomas Tuchel and Luis Enrique, added the report.
Understandable
If the report is true, it would be a bit of a blow for Spurs.
However, you can’t blame Pochettino for wanting to hold fire until the summer.
He’d know where Tottenham stand in terms of which European competition they’ll be in, and also budget.

In addition, the transfer window will open and give a new manager the chance to get right to it.
Pochettino is a top manager, who Andros Townsend deemed arguably “the best manager in the world” in 2021.
He’d be a welcome appointment at Tottenham, the club where he cemented his credentials as an elite manager.
But Spurs may have to wait a while for that to happen.
