In the age of the cinematic universe, there’s never telling which recognizable faces may turn up in a blockbuster, and perhaps one of the most exciting things about seeing a new superhero movie is the cameos.
With Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, there have already been rumors and fan predictions circulating online, with audiences contemplating who may join Zachary Levi as the titular hero.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, the American blockbuster serves as the 12th installment in the DC Extended Universe and we have the likes of Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu making their franchise debut as two of the three Daughters of Atlas.
These DCEU additions have been teased extensively in trailers but there’s been no sign of Gotham’s finest. With that in mind, let’s clarify something: Is Batman in Shazam! Fury Of The Gods?

Batman does not make an appearance or cameo in Shazam! Fury Of The Gods.
Ben Affleck fans may be disheartened to learn that he doesn’t reprise the role that he began tackling in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
On the other hand, there’s The Flash to look forward to on Friday, June 16th 2023, which has already promised plenty of Batman action in its first trailer. Even Michael Keaton is reprising the iconic role!
A Batman scene was pitched
The Shazam! Fury Of The Gods director recently sat for an interview with the ReelBlend podcast and revealed that he originally suggested a scene that would feature both Batman and Shazam piercing through a barrier that the Daughters of Atlas have created.
Superman would have been spotted in the sequence too but he explained the pitch “wasn’t totally serious because it also opens up a whole can of worms. Like, where are they? Where did they go? (laughs) They’re like, ‘Yeah, we can’t do this. Let’s go back to the Bat Cave or something.'”
He added: “… it wasn’t totally serious. And I think, if anything, it probably would’ve been just like on a news report, and you just see a tiny figure.”
