Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have told super-agent Jorge Mendes that they want to sign his client Ruben Neves from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, according to 90min.

Liverpool linked with Wolves star Ruben Neves

The report has named Liverpool among the clubs who are keen on securing the services of Neves in the summer of 2022.

Wolves have offered Neves a new deal, but Mendes has reportedly told potential suitors that the Portugal international is ready to leave at the end of the season.

And former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool have got in touch with the super-agent to ask him to keep them informed of Neves’s situation as it develops.

HITC Verdict: Ruben Neves would be brilliant for Liverpool

In our view, Ruben Neves would be a brilliant signing for Liverpool, and we believe that the Reds should try to do a deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Portugal international is a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park.

We are of the opinion that Neves would make Liverpool more dynamic and more solid in midfield.

The midfielder can hold his own in the middle of the park, protect the back-four, cover ground, and drive the team forward.

Wolves right-back Nelson Semedo described his teammate Neves as a “maestro” on Instagram after Neves’s performance for Portugal against Uruguay at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders is also a big fan of Neves.

Lijnders coached Neves at Porto and told O Jogo in 2019 that players like him ‘always’ interest Liverpool.
