Leeds United target Arne Slot is rivalling Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta when it comes to claiming points after going behind this season.
The Whites were chasing a number of potential managerial appointments following the sacking of Jesse Marsch in February.
One of them was Feyenoord boss Arne Slot, who appeared to be a prime target for the Elland Road hot seat.
According to De Telegraaf’s Kick Off podcast, Slot received an offer worth around £75,000-a-week from Leeds but chose to stay at Feyenoord.
Slot wanted to see out the season given that Feyenoord are on course to win the Eredivisie title – why give that up for a relegation battle at Leeds?
Leeds may have appointed Javi Gracia since then but there is still a train of thought suggesting that Slot is wanted.
The Sunday Mirror (12/02, back page) claimed that Feyenoord fear Leeds could still move for Slot at the end of the season – which ties into Leeds making no real long-term commitment to Gracia.

Slot also experienced a big win at the weekend as Feyenoord came from 1-0 down to beat plucky Volendam 2-1.
Opta Stats now highlight that this 2-1 victory means Feyenoord have claimed 21 points from losing positions this season.
That’s higher than any other team in the top 10 European leagues, except for Rangers, who are level with Feyenoord.
Arsenal have earned praise for their ability to respond to going behind yet Slot has even managed to claim six more points than Mikel Arteta in this area.
That kind of resilience and determination is driving Feyenoord on towards the title and has been massive this season.
Slot would probably prefer that his players didn’t keep going behind, but managing to win this games is huge for his title hopes.
Leeds would love this kind of mentality in their current squad and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Whites make another move for Slot this summer.
