Few people would argue that superhero movies feel like a rarity. Although they once did, the genre is perhaps now the biggest in blockbuster cinema, and audiences regularly get to see a wide range of caped crusaders on the big screen. However, some efforts are undeniably refreshing, and Shazam! Fury Of The Gods is destined to be one of them.
The titular character (played by Zachary Levi) was showcased in Shazam! in 2019 and fans quickly cherished the lighthearted tone and more playful approach to superhero storytelling than was exhibited in other DC Comics adaptations, with efforts like Man Of Steel and Wonder Woman (starring Gal Gadot) adopting a more serious tone.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, this sequel comes out in theaters on Friday, March 17th 2023, and features a star-studded cast that includes Lucy Liu, Helen Mirren, and more.

Although fans will have to wait for the final act to be reunited with the Amazonian, they can rest assured knowing that it will be a moment to cherish. Her role was actually teased in a shot of the film’s trailer too and audiences were quick to catch on and share the discovery on Twitter.
James Gunn has been made the new co-CEO of DC Studios and fans recently spotted comments on one of his Instagram posts hinting that DC had given Gal the “boot” from the franchise.
“I’m not sure where you’re getting that we ‘booted’ Gal,” James replied.
