AC Milan are reportedly worried they will no longer be able to afford the signing of Folarin Balogun if the Arsenal striker continues to break records at Stade de Reims.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian giants are keen to sign the 21-year-old England international after a sensational breakout year in France with the Ligue 1 side, with Balogun scoring his 16th league goal of the season last weekend, becoming the first English player since Glenn Hoddle to reach this figure in the division.
With Balogun now just three goals off breaking the former England manager’s record, the Arsenal striker is set to attract a lot of interest in the transfer market, with Milan one of the leading clubs ready to spend big on the forward, alongside Inter Milan.
However, the Rossoneri are now worried that Arsenal’s asking price for Balogun will soon be too much for Milan to afford, with the Gunners already valuing the attacker at €40m (£34m) ahead of a potential sale in the summer transfer window.

Indeed, Milan’s transfer policy of signing young players with potential to grow at the club has been key to their success in the last few years, and given their current striker situation, Balogun would be perfect for the Serie A titans, though the forward’s form at Reims could be a problem.
As we know, the striker is on course to break Hoddle’s English-scoring record in the division, and with Arsenal more than likely to allow Balogun to leave in the summer, the Gunners could name any price they want for their Hale End graduate, much to Milan’s dismay.
Milan could have to drop Balogun signing if Arsenal increase asking price

Balogun is already looking set to become one of the most sought after talents in Europe this season after a sensational year out in France, and whilst Arsenal could recoup a massive profit for the striker, Milan might have to drop their interest in the forward depending on what the Gunners ask for.
With the attacker on course to break numerous Ligue 1 records come the end of the season, there’s a very realistic chance that Milan could struggle to match whatever Arsenal demand for their latest Hale End superstar, which could open the door for a Premier League side to pursue a deal.
