Alan Shearer and Ian Wright praised Alex Moreno for his ‘brilliant’ assist during Aston Villa’s 1-1 draw against West Ham United on Sunday.
The Premier League’s highest goalscorer added that Moreno’s cross, which was headed in by Ollie Watkins in the first half at the London Stadium, was ‘dreamland’ for the Villa striker.
That’s four goals on the bounce away from home for Watkins and he is starting to cook under Unai Emery.

Danny Ings started against his former side on Sunday, after his January transfer, but he wasn’t able to make an impact as he watched his former teammate bag goal number nine of the campaign.
But whilst Watkins has been around for a few years in Claret and Blue colours, the new face on the block is the January capture of Alex Moreno.
A more of a possession-based fullback, in comparison to Lucas Digne, the Spaniard is starting to showcase why he was brought to the club by Emery and he left both Alan Shearer and Ian Wright impressed, as they told Premier League Productions (12/03/23 at 3:00 pm).
“But what a ball in, it’s dreamland for a forward,” said Shearer. “You are saying ‘go on and get on the end of that’ and Watkins did. It was a great cross and a fantastic header.
“It’s brilliant, that’s brilliant from Moreno,” echoed Wright in the background. “You know what’s good about this cross is that he’s got players in and around him. He’s just put that ball in an area, then he has a forward who has attacked.
“He did really well. I am pleased for Ollie Watkins.”

MORENO COMING GOOD FOR VILLA
Last week, during Villa’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, it could be argued that Moreno produced his best performance since joining.
Well, that was his second assist in Villa colours and there is plenty of where that came from.
If you feed Watkins, then he will cause a lot of problems in the final third, so from that perspective, it’s a possible combination to look forward to for the Villa fans.
