Tottenham Hotspur will consider a move for Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as a replacement for Antonio Conte.

That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that Postecoglou will be on Tottenham’s list for the summer.

Antonio Conte looks set to leave Tottenham at the end of the season with potential replacements already being identified.

The Italian is out of contract this summer and whilst there is a 12-month option in the deal, Tottenham are unlikely to activate it.

Wednesday’s dismal 0-0 draw with AC Milan – which knocked Tottenham out of the Champions League – seems to be the end of Conte for many fans.

Tottenham fans want to see a more attractive brand of football and, ultimately, a manager who doesn’t sound like he’s forever hinting at quitting.

Conte’s time is up and Tottenham need to find somebody who can unite the fanbase again – and Postecoglou could be that man.

It won’t be easy to get Ange Postecoglou out of Celtic

Postecoglou has been an incredible appointment for Celtic.

Plucked from Yokohama F. Marinos in 2021, Postecoglou guided Celtic to the league title last season and is on course for another this term.

The Australian has implemented an outstanding brand of football and Celtic fans are completely united behind him.

Postecoglou – hailed as ‘‘magnificent’ by Celtic hero John Hartson – won’t just leave the Bhoyas at the drop of a hat though.

The 57-year-old told The Sun last week that moving on for the first offer he gets just isn’t how he is wired and people will be ‘surprised’ by how long he stays at Celtic.

This came after strange claims that Postecoglou would be heading to Leeds United this summer.

Australian reporter Andy Maher told SEN’s The Run Home last month that he has heard Postecoglou will leave Celtic this summer to join the Whites.

Postecoglou wasn’t having any of it and again reaffirmed his commitment to Celtic.

Tottenham are a much bigger proposition than Leeds in terms of their standing in the Premier League.

Maybe that kind of job can tempt Postecoglou but this would be no sure thing given how he loves Celtic – and how the Bhoys fans love him.
