Reiss Nelson has praised Arsenal winger Charles Sagoe Jr whilst predicting that he can become a Gunners regular in the future.
Nelson had his hero moment for Arsenal on Saturday afternoon as he scored a dramatic last-gasp goal against Bournemouth.
That’s the dream for all prospects coming through at Arsenal and Nelson has spotted another promising talent.
Nelson has been in conversation with young Arsenal wide man Charles Sagoe Jr, which Arsenal have uploaded to YouTube.
Nelson heaped praise on Sagoe Jr, admitting that he has been watching him closely in the Arsenal Under-21’s this season.
The Arsenal first-teamer heaped praise on Sagoe Jr, suggesting that he has everything needed to become a Gunners winger in the future.
Nelson added that Nelson is ‘unpredictable’ and can make a real impact on either foot, so just needs to stay focused during his Arsenal journey.
“I’ve been watching you, because I watch a lot of the U21 games and literally, I’m not just saying this because you’re here and doing the interview, but you have got everything to become an Arsenal winger,” said Nelson. “You’re unpredictable, you know how to move the ball on your left, on your right, you can score, you can assist, you’ve got everything. It’s just literally about keeping your head down and just not getting distracted or disheartened by anything that happens in the journey towards you getting to the first team,” he added.

Charles Sagoe Jr faces tricky Arsenal path
There is no denying that Sagoe Jr has real talent.
The 18-year-old has made 18 Under-21 appearances for Arsenal this season, bagging four goals and two assists.
Primarily a left-sided winger, Sagoe Jr has been hailed as a ‘livewire’ on Arsenal’s official website.
We can understand Nelson’s excitement over Sagoe Jr but the path to first-team minutes at Arsenal won’t be easy.
Arsenal already have a couple of incredible young wingers in Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
Neither of them are going anywhere any time soon and should be Arsenal’s wingers for years to come.
That makes it pretty difficult for other wingers to get a look-in, as Nelson himself has found this season.
All Sagoe Jr can do is keep pushing, keep improving and hopefully emerge into the first team just like Saka did back in 2019.
If he can do that, Sagoe Jr has every chance of living up to Nelson’s huge praise.
