Tottenham and Newcastle United target Victor Osimhen has said that his dream is to play in the Premier League one day.

The £42.1 million (Football Italia) man, who is reportedly considered as the successor to Harry Kane has been one of Europe’s most in-form strikers this season, scoring 21 goals across all competitions. Eddie Howe’s side are also keen on signing the Nigerian international, who has been deemed as superior to Erling Haaland by Leonid Slutski.

Now, it seems Tottenham and Newcastle can stay hopeful regarding their chances of wrapping up a deal for Victor Osimhen, who fancies a switch to the Premier League.

The Napoli hitman has been compared to the late Pele by club legend Careca, which tells you all you need to know about how highly he has been rated since joining the Serie A giants from Lille.

As Tottenham and Newcastle are reportedly plotting a move for Victor Osimhen in the summer, the man himself has said that he is driven by his goal of playing in the Premier League.

“I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League one day. “It’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum, Serie A is in one of top five leagues in the world and it’s an amazing feeling for me”, he said, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano.

In our view: A smarter move would be to say yes to Newcastle

If Victor Osimhen does decide to leave Napoli for a Premier League switch, he should sign for Newcastle instead of Tottenham, in our view.

While Spurs may even be favourites to qualify for the Champions League over the Magpies, there is zero certainty around Antonio Conte’s future while the club lack an encouraging plan for the future.

As for Newcastle, they have already taken a giant leap extremely swiftly since the takeover and have already shown that they are prepared to take the necessary steps to reach the very top.
