Paul Scholes bigged up Mohamed Salah for his ‘brilliant’ showing as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool humiliated Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United 7-0 on Sunday at Anfield, as he told Premier League Productions (05/03/23 at 7:00 pm).

The Manchester United legend praised Salah’s all-round display and the ‘fantastic touch and technique’ he showed during one of the most remarkable matches in English football history.

Liverpool and Manchester United are the two biggest clubs in English football. The game speaks for itself.

But to beat your rivals 7-0, and when they are bang in-form, is quite remarkable on many levels and beyond.

This is something Liverpool fans will talk about in decades and decades to come and their rivals will never ever be able to wipe this nightmare away from their memories.

Salah had a hand in four goals yesterday, two of them for himself and Scholes was very impressed by the 30-year-old.

“I thought Salah was brilliant,” said Scholes. “Not just his goals, but his all-round play. I thought he has shown his strength. Fantastic touch and technique. Weight of pass for the goal as well. He was brilliant.”

SALAH BREAKS FOWLER’S RECORD

In 2017, Salah made a return to English football when the Reds paid Roma £35 million (Sky Sports) for a player that had previously struggled in the colours of Chelsea.

It just goes to show what someone can do with a second chance because Salah is now Liverpool’s all-time top-scorer.

The Egypt international scored goals number 128 and 129 for the club – surpassing one of English football’s greatest-ever finishers in Robbie Fowler.

Already a legend on Merseyside, Salah is just adding to his legacy because he will go down as one of Liverpool’s greatest ever the day he leaves the club.
