Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Victor Osimhen over double his current salary at Napoli in order to sign for the Blues, with Tottenham also chasing the Nigerian international.
According to CalcioMercato, Todd Boehly is keen to break the bank once again to sign one of football’s most exciting talents in Serie A’s leading goalscorer this season, with Osimhen leading Napoli’s charge for a first Scudetto title this century with 19 goals in 21 league games.
As per the report, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is unwilling to sell his star forward for cheap, with the Italian slapping a €130m (£115m) price tag on the 24-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window. And as we have seen from Chelsea under Boehly, this fee could actually be met.
The Blues do face competition to sign Osimhen, though, with journalist Rudy Galetti reporting that Tottenham are keen to sign the striker should Harry Kane leave north London this summer, a prospect that is slowly growing with Antonio Conte likely to leave as manager at the end of this season.

Whilst Tottenham could soon have the funds to sign Osimhen, Chelsea’s spending record under Boehly, despite how short his tenure has been at the club, strongly suggests that the tenth-place Premier League side can blow Daniel Levy out of the water with another British-record bid.
Indeed, even with Christopher Nkunku set to sign for Chelsea in the summer, it isn’t out of the question that the Blues also look to bring in Osimhen as more attacking cover, a move that could throw Tottenham’s transfer plans off a cliff given how ideal the Nigerian is to replace Kane.
Chelsea signing Osimhen could be a disaster for Tottenham

Chelsea’s never-ending spending will cause major headaches for a lot of Europe’s biggest clubs this summer, and for Tottenham, Boehly signing Osimhen could be nothing short of a disaster given how perfect the forward is as a replacement for Kane.
With the Chelsea striker curse also likely to claim another victim in Osimhen, Tottenham could miss out on the forward through honest means of selling a superstar player for a huge fee, with the rivalry between the two sides only to increase should the Blues secure the Napoli forward.
