Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Oliver Glasner as they consider the Eintracht Frankfurt boss as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Tottenham are weighing up potential Conte successors.

The report claims that the feeling side Tottenham is that it may be best for Conte to leave the club this summer.

The Italian is out of contract this summer and whilst Spurs can activate a one-year option on the deal, they may prefer to move on.

If Conte leaves, Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be a real contender for the job more than three years after his Tottenham exit.

Some inside Tottenham aren’t so sure that bringing back Pochettino is a good idea, but chairman Daniel Levy is a big fan.

Yet a surprise contender is also in the running with Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner understood to be on the radar.

Who is Tottenham manager target Oliver Glasner?

Glasner isn’t exactly a household name for English football fans but he has been impressing in Germany.

A defender in his playing days, Glasner was a hero for SV Ried in his native Austria as he racked up more than 500 appearances.

Glasner turned his hand to management with Ried in 2014, but only after serving as Roger Schmidt’s assistant at Red Bull Salzburg having asked Ralf Rangnick for a job.

A return to Ried materialised in 2014 but Glasner stayed for just one year before moving on to LASK.

Glasner was a revelation in that role with LASK enjoying a meteoric rise under his tutelage.

After promotion to the top flight, Glassier guided LASK into the Europa League and even the Champions League qualifiers.

Wolfsburg were suitably impressed and lured Glasner to Germany in 2019, where he won 47% of his games before leaving in 2021.

Eintracht Frankfurt pounced, hiring Glarner as a replacement for Adi Hutter.

Glasner enjoyed a stunning first season in charge as he guided Frankfurt to the Europa League title, beating Rangers in the final.

Now sitting sixth in the Bundesliga and having made it through to the Champions League knockout stages, Glasner continues to shine.

Players like Evan Ndicka, Daichi Kamada, Djibril Sow, Jesper Lindstrom and Randal Kolo Muani have developed brilliantly under Glasner.

The 48-year-old usually flits between a 4-2-3-1 and a 3-4-2-1 system, two formations this Tottenham squad know well.

The approach stays the same regardless of the formation though as Glasner has admitted that he wants to get forward quickly and cause major problems going forward.

Frankfurt’s pressing under Glasner absolutely blew Barcelona boss Xavi away and these are the kind of things Tottenham fans want to see in Conte’s replacement.
