Newcastle United are now exploring a potential move to sign Piotr Zielinski of Napoli in the summer transfer window. But the midfielder is also of interest to Liverpool and Inter Milan.
That is according to CalcioMercatoWeb, which reports Inter Milan may now back out of the race with Newcastle appreciating Zielinski. The Serie A side cannot afford to be in a bidding war for the 28-year-old. So, they will reluctantly back away if the competition is too strong.
Zielinski is highly likely to leave Napoli at the end of the season with the 89-cap Poland star out of contract in June 2024. But he is yet to decide on leaving Serie A and taking up a new challenge elsewhere. The central technician would consider a move to the Premier League.

Newcastle pose a great threat to Inter Milan with the Toon boasting lavish riches following the club’s Saudi-led takeover. The Nerazzurri would need to fight with everything they can to compete with the Magpies. So, San Siro chiefs are wary of entering into any bidding war.
Zielinski is also attracting a further raft of suitors with his role in Napoli’s Scudetto push. The 5 ft 10 ace has registered three goals and seven assists during 25 Serie A appearances so far this season. He also has three goals and two assists in seven Champions League ties.

Newcastle may have to rival Liverpool for a transfer with Napoli for Piotr Zielinski
As well as Inter Milan, Newcastle may also have to rival Liverpool to secure a transfer with Napoli for Zielinski. Rudy Galetti has reported that Anfield chiefs view the Poland talent as a potential alternative to Jude Bellingham. But the Borussia Dortmund star is their top target.
Liverpool are paying close attention to Zielinski’s situation at Napoli in view of a transfer. But Jurgen Klopp also appreciates Brighton & Hove Albion ace Moises Caicedo, Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat, Leicester City leader Youri Tielemans and Mikel Merino of Real Sociedad.
Zielinski may prove to be an attractive transfer target for Liverpool and Newcastle, though, given he enters the final year of his contract with Napoli this summer. The midfielder, who Inter Milan icon Giuseppe Bergomi calls ‘outstanding’, last signed new terms back in 2020.
The Poland ace has been in Naples since 2016 after joining from Udinese for €16m (£14m). He has since enjoyed 314 appearances across all competitions for 46 goals and 42 assists.
