West Ham United star Gianluca Scamacca would already welcome offers from Serie A sides to return to Italy. David Moyes only sealed the striker’s transfer from Sassuolo last summer.
That is according to La Repubblica, which reports AC Milan are monitoring Scamacca as the San Siro natives seek strikers. The Rossoneri are eager to improve their forward options in the summer. They have endured a frustrating Scudetto title defence sitting third this term.
West Ham backed Moyes to the hilt last July to bring Scamacca to the Premier League. The Hammers paid Sassuolo an initial £30.5m for the nine-cap Italy forward, plus a further £5m in add-ons. The Irons also awarded the Neroverdi a 10% sell-on clause for the 24-year-old.

Moyes is yet to see the best out of Scamacca, however, with the Rome native only scoring three goals in 16 Premier League appearances. He has also only found the back of the net against Wolves and Fulham in successive matches in October plus Leeds United in January.
Scamacca has also scored four goals in the Europa Conference League this term, including two in two qualifying ties. Yet Moyes has favoured Michail Antonio and Danny Ings ahead of the Italian of late. He has watched their past two Premier League matches from the bench.

Scamacca is already open to returning to Italy inside a year of his West Ham transfer
Moyes left Scamacca as an unused substitute against Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest after he returned from a knee injury. The issue kept him from the Irons’ win against Everton plus draws with Newcastle United and Chelsea. Ings started against Forest instead.
Antonio also started in the Hammers’ FA Cup defeat at Manchester United on Wednesday. Scamacca came on for the striker with just four minutes left on the clock to make his 25th appearance over all competitions in claret-and-blue. He has played 1,257 minutes in total.
Scamacca’s reduced involvement in recent weeks now has the striker considering a return to Italy inside a year of his transfer to West Ham with AC Milan keen. Calciomercato notes the Rossoneri’s interest, as well. But they would struggle to afford the Hammers’ price tag.
West Ham will demand around €50m (£44m) to sell Scamacca, who Declan Rice has called ‘so exciting’. World Soccer Agency has also now axed the striker eyed by the Stellar Group and GR Sports. The Stellar Group represents a number of stars in England, Italy and Spain.
