Alex Iwobi is now unhappy at Everton and wants to leave Goodison Park with Fenerbahce emerging as his best option. The Super Lig side are also pushing to secure a quick transfer.
That is according to A Spor, which reports Fenerbahce manager Jorge Jesus backs a move to sign Iwobi. He admires the 26-year-old’s ability to play anywhere in midfield and on the wings. But the Istanbul natives would face a tight deadline to get any move across the line.
Fenerbahce are keen to sign Iwobi from Everton before the transfer market shuts in Turkey on March 5. Jesus sees the Nigerian as the final piece of their puzzle at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in their hopes of the Super Lig title. The Yellow Canaries sit in second by six points.

Fenerbahce are desperate to agree on terms with Everton for Alex Iwobi’s transfer
Sukru Saracoglu Stadium chiefs are desperate to agree on terms with their counterparts at Goodison Park. Fenerbahce also hope Everton let Iwobi leave in an initial loan transfer. But his desire to leave the Toffees could now facilitate an attempt to secure a permanent deal.
Should Everton agree on terms with Fenerbahce, Iwobi may sign a contract in Istanbul very quickly to secure the transfer. Jesus also holds out hope for having the 58-cap Nigeria star to challenge for the 2022/23 Europa League and enjoy a successful run in the Turkish Cup.

Sean Dyche has reverted Alex Iwobi to the wings since replacing Frank Lampard
Iwobi was in line to sign a new, long-term contract with Everton in December, per Fabrizio Romano. The midfielder’s existing £120k-a-week terms are due to expire in June 2024. He has not yet penned a new deal since arriving from Arsenal in August 2019 for up to £35m.
Everton paid the Gunners an initial £28m for Iwobi during Marco Silva’s tenure at the helm on Merseyside. He has since featured 125 times for the Toffees across all competitions for just eight goals and 15 assists. Iwobi has also registered eight of his assists so far this term.
Frank Lampard turned Iwobi’s Everton career around during his time in charge by using the Nigerian in central midfield. But Sean Dyche has returned the Lagos-born star, who former Chelsea enforcer Frank Leboeuf calls ‘exceptional’, to a role on the wings since taking over.
