Arsenal and Liverpool have just suffered a blow for their pursuits of Lautaro Martinez. The Inter Milan striker’s agent, Alejandro Camano, has now ruled out his transfer this summer.
Camano has responded to reports that Inter Milan could sell Martinez if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. Yet he refutes the suggestions as the 25-year-old is completely committed to the Nerazzurri. But he still leaves a door open for a departure ‘in the future’.
Inter Milan sit second in Serie A through 24 games but the race for a top-four finish in Italy is fierce. Just six points separate the San Siro natives from rivals AC Milan, Lazio, Roma and Atalanta. Simone Inzaghi’s team in second are also only three points clear of Roma in fifth.

Inzaghi could still see Inter Milan qualify for next season’s Champions League campaign by winning the title this term. The Nerazzurri edged Porto 1-0 in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie. They will visit the Liga Portugal giants in the reverse meeting on Tuesday, March 14.
Arsenal and Liverpool have eyes on a transfer for Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez
Arsenal and Liverpool may have eyes on Inter Milan’s Champions League efforts in view of a transfer for Martinez. TEAMtalk reports the Gunners are rivalling Chelsea and Manchester United for the Argentina striker. Mikel Arteta is a big fan and views him as a leading target.
But Arteta may also have to rival Jurgen Klopp for a deal in the off-season. Inter Live notes the Liverpool boss is also a big fan of Martinez and is considering a transfer. But Nerazzurri chairman Giuseppe Marotta will demand bids of around €100m (£89m) to consider selling.

Alejandro Camano rules out Lautaro Martinez leaving San Siro this summer
But while Arsenal and Liverpool have eyes on his transfer, Camano has ruled out Martinez leaving Inter Milan this summer. The striker is completely committed to the Nerazzurri and is under contract at San Siro to June 2026. He signed a £184k-a-week deal in October 2021.
“Lautaro is a very serious player,” Camano has told Calciomercato.it. “He’s a leader and he feels the Inter cause a lot. Even in everyday life, his words are a serious assumption of responsibility. He wants to win with this shirt and when he doesn’t succeed, he’s sad.
“Farewell to Inter without the Champions League? He has a many-year contract with Inter and he doesn’t just play for results and win trophies. He plays to give away victories. His permanence depends on how happy he is at the Nerazzurri.

“Whether Inter win the Scudetto, go to the Champions League or not, his feelings don’t change. I repeat, he has many years on [the] contract [and] there is no possibility that he will leave. He feels a great belonging and this is very important to him.
“If offers arrive in the future that can satisfy both Lautaro and Inter, maybe we’ll talk about it again. But that’s not the case at the moment. Our thoughts are concentrated on Inter.”
Martinez enticed Arsenal and Liverpool to show an interest in his transfer with 16 goals for Inter Milan this season. The 25-year-old has also laid on seven assists over 34 appearances in all competitions. He is also one of Inzaghi’s vice-captains having replaced Milan Skriniar.
