PSG could reportedly enter the race to sign Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen, though the Ligue 1 giants face stern competition already from the likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham.

According to journalist Ciro Venerato, the French side could soon throw their hat into the ring to sign the Nigerian international depending on what happens to PSG’s attacking ranks this summer, with the futures of all three of their superstar forwards up in the air.

Lionel Messi’s contract is due to expire at the end of this season whilst Neymar and Kylian Mbappe continue to be linked with moves way from Paris, and as a result, Luis Campos could turn to Osimhen as an option to resolve PSG’s future attacking issues should a move occur.

Venerato said: “PSG could be a club interested in Osimhen, in which case we will also have to wait for what happens from their end as the window opens. Everything is possible with Osimhen, but we will have to wait for the end of the season for further developments.”

With PSG one of the richest clubs in football, signing Osimhen will be no issue in a financial sense for the French giants, even with Corriere dello Sport reporting that Newcastle had a £84m bid rejected by Napoli for the £107m-rated forward as Rudy Galetti claims Spurs are keen to recruit the 24-year-old if Harry Kane leaves.

Indeed, the race to sign Osimhen will no doubt be one of the most frantic and craziest in the upcoming summer window, and if PSG are to lose a key attacker, the French side could immediately become the clear favourite to sign the Serie A superstar.

PSG have not flexed their immense wealth since the summer of 2021 when they underwent arguably the most mental transfer window of all time, climaxing with the arrival of Messi from FC Barcelona. And as a result, the French club could make a big move to sign Osimhen this year if one of their superstar forwards leaves.

Whilst the Premier League could be a hugely appealing league for Osimhen, the chance to play for PSG and alongside the likes of Mbappe and Messi could be too good to turn down for the Nigerian international, who could also be a sensational signing for the French giants.
