Torino manager Ivan Juric has told a press conference – as quoted by Football Italia – that Juventus defender Gleison Bremer is better than Tottenham centre-back Cristian Romero amid reports Liverpool want the Brazilian powerhouse.
Bremer, 25, has been a rare shining light in a difficult year at Juve since joining the club from Juric’s Torino last summer. The three-time Brazil man played 110 times for Torino, scoring 13 goals. He has since played 26 games for Juventus.
A report from CMW said ahead of the January window, that Liverpool were interested in Bremer. They had been linked with Bremer before his move to Juventus. Liverpool need a centre-back this summer and Bremer could cost £57million.
Juric was discussing his old centre-back and his form at Juventus, since swapping Torino for the Old Lady. He says that Bremer is the best centre-back he has worked with – and namedropped Romero, stating that Bremer is even better.
“I think he’s the best defender I’ve ever coached and I’ve worked with some good ones such as Romero,” Juric said – as per Football Italia. “Bremer is spectacular. He always wants to improve and he’s worked so much on his technique.”

Romero is a World Cup winner and deemed by many at Tottenham as the club’s best centre-backs. One of their most-important players. A defender that many think could go on and become one of the best defenders in English football.
So, if Juric thinks Bremer is better – then Liverpool have got to sign him. Indeed, Liverpool need a top-class centre-back. Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have been poor this season. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate have had injuries.
Liverpool need a younger, but just as powerful centre-back to replace the likes of Gomez and Matip. With Juventus likely to sell a number of players in the summer, Bremer could be one they have to sacrifice. Liverpool must move.
