Rafael Leao is one of the hottest properties in European football right now with a number of top teams within Europe plotting moves to sign him this summer.

The Portuguese attacker is being courted by the likes of Real Madrid and PSG, while Tottenham and Arsenal are also reportedly keen.

However, it’s fair to say that Spurs and Arsenal may not be favourites in this race.

Indeed, Leao has now gone on the record to share his dislike for the city of London, stating that he doesn’t like the weather in the UK, seemingly suggesting that a move to England isn’t on the cards right now.

Leao doesn’t like London

Leao discussed his situation – via A Bola.

“Before reaching Serie A I was in France, where the first year was difficult. They came in hard. But when you’re skilled, when you’re faster, you can create and make a difference. The second year was much better and I grew a lot. I have to show the world what I can do on and off the pitch,” Leao said.

When asked about playing against Tottenham in the Champions League, Leao touched on his dislike for the UK.

“I don’t like the weather there. I went shopping the first time I went to London,” Leao said.

Dealbreaker

The weather may seem like a small thing, especially when you’re talking about multi-million pound transfers in football, but for some players, this can be a dealbreaker.

Indeed, the likes of Angel Di Maria, Nolito and a number of others called their time in England short because of the weather and the culture, and, to be honest, it’s hard to blame them.

We’d much rather be earning millions in the glorious sunshine of Spain or Italy rather than the rain and wind of London any day.

Leao probably won’t be coming to England for his next move.
